The Barcelona’s Head is a sculpture created by the American artist Roy Lichtenstein and made by the sculptor Diego Delgado Rajado, a very visible monument for its fifteen meters high and six meters wide, being a clear tribute to the modernist architect Antoni Gaudí with its colors striking and its coverage of mosaics.
It is located on Paseo Colón, near the post and telegraph building. It was created in 1991 and 1992, at that time the city of Barcelona suffered many urban changes due to the 1992 Olympic games, decorating one end of Port Vell, an area that was remodeled and where artistic pieces such as the sculpture el pez de oro (the golden fish) were created Designed by Canadian Frank Gehry, la estrella herida (Horn’s Wounded Star) designed by Rebecca or the matches by Claes Oldenburg.
